The socialization period in a puppy’s development occurs between the 4th through 16th week of their life. At this most crucial time in a puppy’s development they are not afraid of much and they are primed and eager to experience pleasant opportunities with a variety of people, places and things.
If you have a puppy between 8 and 12 weeks of age, we would love to have you join our class!
Puppy manners are the focus for this class. Next Steps classes will entail positive reinforcement training techniques to teach: sit, down, wait/stay, leave it, come when called and loose leash walking. Learning to be proactive and catching puppies “doing the correct behavior” as well as management techniques to limit unwanted puppy behaviors will also be emphasized.
This class is for puppy graduates of First Steps as well as puppies that are too old to enroll in First Steps but less than one year old.
