A new 6 week session of Next Steps Manner will be starting on Wednesday, March 8 at 1 pm. in the afternoon.

Next Steps meets for an hour, once a week for six weeks. The registration for the 6 weeks of classes is $135.00 and if you are a First Steps Puppy Socialization Class graduate, you receive a $10 discount.  All dogs that are at least 4 months of age through adult aged dogs are welcome.

In class you will learn the skills you need to better communicate with your dog, so learning becomes quick and easy.  We cover all of the basics, such as: sit, down, wait, stay, come when called, loose leash walking and how to meet and greet people politely.

We will also discuss how to problem solve and come up with plans for any behavior concerns you may have.

For more information you can download our Next Steps brochure from our website,

Have you and your dog completed Next Steps or another Level One training class and want to continue to improve your training skills as well as your dog’s responses, if so, we have the class for you.

On Wednesday, March 8 at 8 pm, we will be starting a 6 week session of Advanced Steps.  This class will meet once a week for an hour and the registration for this class is $140.  If you are a graduate of our Next Steps class you will receive a $10 discount.

The skills that are required to pass the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test will be the core of the curriculum taught in this class.  These skills include: sitting politely for petting, walking on a loose leash through a group of people, sit and down when requested and staying in place until called to come, come when called from 10 feet away, politely sit next to their owner while their owner shakes hands with another person with a dog and staying focused on their owner through distractions.

This is a positive reinforcement training class, only flat buckle/snap collars will be used in class.  If more management is needed, dogs can wear a Gentle Leader Head Collar or an Easy Walk Harness. A 4-6 foot leash will be used in class; no retractable leashes are to be used during class time.

To register for either of the classes or if you have any questions please contact the class instructor,
