Karen Miller, Nursing Supervisor
C.V.T. - Certified Veterinary Technician
After 18 years of providing exceptional care to AMC's clients and patients, Karen decided to pursue her dream of retiring to the country. Karen was Animal Medical Center's first employee. She started working at AMC shortly after it opened in 1989. Karen started her AMC career as a receptionist, room assistant and surgery technician because she and Dr. Hartz were the entire patient care team. Karen has been an integral part of AMC's growth and outstanding patient care throughout the years and we miss her. While we will always have a position available to Karen if she decides to return to the area, you are more likely to see her gardening, volunteering or photographing her blue birds as you drive through the Pennsylvania countryside. Thanks for your years of dedication to AMC's patients, clients and our community Karen!
Karen received her Associate in Science Degree in Animal Health Technology in 1981 and her Pennsylvania Technician certification in 1982. In 1995 Karen attended the American Animal Hospital Association’s Veterinary Management Development School in Lakewood, Colorado.
Karen lives with sister and her cat Boogins. She enjoys traveling, reading, wild bird watching and feeding, and anything Disney.
Karen especially enjoyed working with challenging cats and older pets. She was always looking for ways to improve patient care and service to our clients. Karen is an American Animal Hospital Association Management Associate Member, a member of the Veterinary Technicians and Assistants Association of Pennsylvania, a member of the North American Veterinary Technician Association and a 4-H Volunteer Leader.
